Schlossmuseum Linz was formerly a castle, however, now this royal structure has been transformed into a museum. A treasure trove of art, it showcases art styles right from early ages till date. Hauptplatz is the main square of Linz and has been renamed several times over the years. This bustling urban square in the Old Town is among the largest of its kind in the continent and dates back to the 13th century. Some of the interesting sights near it are the Neptunbrunnen, Alter Dom (Old Cathedral), Dreifaltigkeitssäule and Altes Rathaus. Opened in 1980, Linzer Tiergarten or the Zoo Linz is a wonderful place to get to know creatures of the wild. Spread across four hectares (2.47 acres), it is home to more than 800 animals including 110 different species. Beautifully landscaped, it features animals such as long-tailed macaque, short-eared elephant shrews, red panda, Chinese dwarf quail, hyacinth macaw, green iguana, poison dart frog and tarantula. Learn about them in their on-site school or while exploring their enclosures.
The Lentos Kunstmuseum Linz displays inspiring and unique pieces of art. The museum's walls are adorned in European art from the early 20th Century. Its collection includes graphic art work, paintings and more. This museum also has a restaurant indoors for guests to take a break and ponder over the artwork. Apart from regular exhibitions, art workshops and classes are held here.

Several interactive exhibits outline notions of energy, movement and physical laws in an engaging manner. Located in the tranquil surroundings of Rožmberk nad Vltavou, this 13th-century castle is steeped in history. Reflecting Gothic and Renaissance characteristics, it has seen a string of owners since it was opened to public in the 19th Century. The Upper Castle as well as the Lower Castle are well-maintained and full of historical artifacts, priceless paintings and furniture. It is known for the legend of the White Lady is Perchta von Rosenberg, the spirit of one of its inhabitants that seems to appear occasionally. The castle's rooms are regular venues for exhibitions.
Built in a strategic location along the confluence of River Enns and River Steyr, the Schloss Lamberg stands majestically at the northern end of the Old Town. Displaying mainly Baroque influences, this castle was designed in the 16th century by the illustrious Domenico d’Angel. The private library within holds the largest collection of books numbering over 11,000, and some of them are nearly 5 centuries old. Very often classical concerts are held within the magnificent confines of Schloss Lamberg. Call for open hours.
