Dive N' Surf

Since its inception in 1953, Dive n' Surf has been a staple for locals that caters to scuba divers and surfers of all levels of expertise. Twin brothers Bob and Bill Meistrell, the owners, went on to create the Body Glove wetsuit. You can find a great selection of these suits in the superb shop. Dive n' Surf also carries a full line of beachwear and casual clothing. Whatever your needs, even if you are not into surfing or diving, checking out this historic store is a must if in the vicinity.

Lone Wolfs Objets d’Surf

Located on a busy intersection in Venice, the Lone Wolfs Objets d’Surf is a quaint, little surf shop with not only surfboards on offer, but also fins, wetsuits and other surfing gear including Octopus Traction Pads and Octopus Comp Leash. The laid-back owners, the customer -friendly return policies and the modestly-priced items take away the need to look any further than Lone Wolfs if you want to buy a surfboard or other accoutrements. They also have a collection of books, postcards, clothes, hats and bags along with a recording studio in the back of the store.

Nikau Kai Waterman Shop

Nikau Kai Waterman Shop caters to visitors and locals looking for quality surfing and water sports gear in Manhattan beach. The store has everything from boards to accessories and trendy lifestyle clothing. You'll fond brands like Bolt, Matuese, LifeProof, Herschel and Rip Curl in the store, as well as their signature line. The store is owned and operated by avid surfers, so expert advice is always a conversation way. You can also sign up for surf classes, a great way to get started.

R.E.I.

Plaid flannel shirts and hiking boots will never go out of style with the customers of R.E.I. All things outdoors is the theme here, from camping and fishing to backpacking and rock-climbing. R.E.I. sells and rents everything you could ever imagine needing while out in the elements, and the prices are reasonable. For a nominal price, you can join the co-op, and receive a dividend usually equal to ten percent of your yearly purchases, but non-members can shop here as well.

Val Surf

"Surfboards R Us" is what this place should be called, they sell more than 80 different types of surfboards here. From small trofin wave carvers to classic longboards, this surf pro shop has the distinction of being considered the first shop not directly on the beach to sell water wares. If surfing is your thing, browse the California casual wear or create a tropical statement from the hundreds of Hawaiian shirts and bathing suits.
