EL Tapeo de Cervantes

The restaurant is located in the historic center of the city near the Teatro Cervantes de Málagas. It is a small and cozy tapas bar, and is a perfect place to taste some of the best tapas in Malaga. The restaurant is very popular with locals, who enjoy a combination of traditional, new and creative tapas, along with a carefully selected range of wines and beers. The must tries are the Iberian Pork with Cheese, Chicken Croquet’s, Antequerana Tomato Soup, Anchovy, Sardine and Salmon Sandwiches, Scrambled Eggs with Smoked Salmon and Spinach.

Antigua Casa del Guardia

This old place with an unrivalled reputation has been going for more than a century. In the middle of Alameda Principal, it is still full of customers—old and new. The wines in barrels (and bulk) are certainly the best option. Not only can you try the different wines but you can also take a bottle home to share with the family or friends. As far as the food goes, some seafood tapas or "pescaito frito" (little fried fish, famous in Malaga) should help you enjoy washing down the vino.

Uvedoble Taberna

Creatively prepared Tapas, with a modern twist is the major highlight of this restaurant run by Chef Willie Orellana. The restaurant is located at a stone's throw distance from the Cathedral, and is very popular with Spaniards and Tourists especially on weekends. The restaurant has combined traditional Spanish cuisines with modern techniques of cooking, using the best quality ingredients, to prepare a menu full of delicious dishes. The recommended dishes are Tataki de atún con porra Antequerana (Tuna fish with sauce), Ensaladilla Rusa con gambas (Russian salad and prawns), Bacalao con patata y alioli de piquillos (potatoes, garlic and pepper dish) and Fideos negros con calamaritos de Málaga (Squid dish). Meals can be accompanied with wines that have been carefully selected and are served by the glass or bottle.

Óleo Restaurante

Olea Restaurante stands for ‘Oil Restaurant’, and is located in the Center of Contemporary Art Museum in Malaga. The restaurant is the brainchild of popular chef Sergio de Rio and Sushi expert Rui Junior. Together, they offer a surprising blend of Traditional Mediterranean flavors and Japanese flares. The restaurant has modern interiors and a spacious terrace, where diners can relax and enjoy a wonderful meal, while sipping some of the best wines on offer. The must tries in Japanese cuisines is Sushi, Uramakis and Nigris. While in Mediterranean relish the Russian salads, Patatas Bravas, meat ball chops and Croquettes.

Amador

Situated in the former Dutch colony, Amador is a renowned restaurant in Malaga. It is a perfect place to unwind, and enjoy a wonderful culinary experience, while enjoying some of the most stunning views of the Mediterranean. Run by Chef Amador Fernandez, the restaurant is decorated with a beautiful art collection, and serves a variety of international and Spanish dishes. The restaurant is located in hotel Villa Guadalupe, and has an indoor and outdoor seating. It has private rooms for group dinners, and is ideal to host wedding parties, birthdays and communions. The must try’s here are the exquisite dishes such as Oxtail Croquettes, Scrambled Eggs, Shoulder of lamb, Crispy Suckling Pig, sweet rice and Terrine of Foie Gras. Meals can be accompanied with wines that have been procured from different regions of Spain to further sweeten your evening.

Casa Aranda

Casa Aranda is synonymous with traditional churros in Málaga. It was opened in 1932 and has become a local institution. It is a must for visitors who want to play at being locals. Situated in a narrow street in the heart of the city, close to the central market, Casa Aranda has an old-fashioned feel about it. Churros cost 35 ptas each. If you're in a group it's best to order a whole platter-full to share.
