hell Beach is a small fishing village in St. Bernard Parish near Lake Borgne. Hit by the Hurricane Katrina in 2005, the quaint community still has remnants of ruined houses and dead trees dotting the outskirts of the village. Sights worth seeing are the Katrina Memorial which is dedicated to the victims of the deadly hurricane and is entrenched in water, numerous families fishing together in the waterways on their multicolored boats and ruins of the 19th century fort, Fort Proctor. Surrounded completely by the waters of Lake Borgne, the fort makes for an interesting sight. Visitors can also indulge in a round of sport fishing at spots like the popular Priest Camp, St. Malo, Bayou Sue, Stump Lagoon and the Rocks. If you are fascinated by places that are off-the-beaten-track, consider going to Shell Beach in case you are in eastern St. Bernard Parish.
