What's not to like about the unique Farmers' Market in Huntington Beach? First, this afternoon market accommodates every shopper's desire to sleep in. Second, only farmers certified by the county agriculture commissioner sell their freshest produce here. And with the adjoining Art-A-Faire, shoppers can pick up handcraft souvenirs after groceries. But most importantly: location, location, location! Housed in Pier Plaza, this oceanfront market sits just a few steps away from the illustrious Huntington Beach and Pier, across from Oceanview Promenade. Fun shopping and good food in addition to a breathtaking view—this is a great place to enjoy that Friday afternoon sun in Huntington Beach. – Hoiyin Ip

From the outside, absolutely nothing is appealing about El Fenix Carniceria. Sandwiched by competitors, they'd be lucky to have a nearby post office visitor pop in to grab something real quick. But, to the patrons, the large variety of marinated meats look so appealing that they just have to get some for dinner. Keep walking through the shelves towards the back of the shop, and you'll find a full menu of Mexican comfort food: omelets, tacos, tamales, and half a dozen kinds of salsa to top them off. Most of the staff speaks little English, but they are very accommodating. A popular neighborhood market, patrons often walk out saying "See you tomorrow." -Hoiyin Ip
