Rausch Schokoladenhaus

In 1999 Heinrich Fassbender and Wilhelm Rausch came up with Fassbender & Rausch Chocolatiers, one of the biggest chocolate house in the world. They prepare their chocolates and desserts only using premium cocoa without compromising on quality. They also have a bar and restaurant at the venue which serves delicious chocolate cakes and drinks along with salads and main course dishes. Their chocolate desserts offer rich visual appeal besides the luxurious textures and flavors that melt in the mouth. Fassbender & Rausch also displays scale models of famous landmarks and crafts cherubs, models, houses and other sculptures using chocolate. Do stop at their Demonstration Kitchen where expert chocolatiers will exhibit the art of preparing truffles, mold chocolates, and pralines.

Burgermeister

Look no further than this little joint under the U-Bahn tracks for some of the best hamburgers in town. The burger masters behind the grill are clad in starched white uniforms and billowy chef's hats, providing a tongue-in-cheek, visual contrast to the fact that this little green kiosk was years ago a public toilet. If you don't opt for one of the delicious normal hamburgers, give the spicy chili-cheeseburger a try. The seating is outdoors and surrounded by three different streets and train tracks. So if you're looking for a quieter place to enjoy your food, buy a take-away and find a seat on the nearby River Spree.

Marjellchen

The name Marjellchen doesn't roll easy on the tongue, but wait until you taste some of the offerings here. The menu at this Wilmersdorf eatery is dominated by traditional German dishes. Although the menu is slightly more geared towards meat and poultry preparations, there is also a good selection of vegetarian fare available as well. The restaurant sports a relaxed yet elegant vibe, thanks to soothing, earthy hues that dominate the decor. The service is nice and friendly, whereas the delicious food is fairly priced. Top picks here include the Fillet Pot, which is beef and pork incorporated with potatoes smothered in drool-worthy, East-Prussian sauces, and any of the pizzas.

The Bird

If it’s American meat you're after, then this self-described American steakhouse and bar has got you your fix. The Bird prides itself on three things: the quality of its beef, its straight-forward American atmosphere, and its uncompromising attitude towards making the best food with the freshest ingredients available. Run by a couple of New York expatriates, the menu here is filled with sassy commentary and is dominated by imported American-beef steaks and tangy burgers, such as The Filthy Harry (bacon and Cheddar cheese). Rolls of paper towels sit on the tables to indicate that things might get a little messy, as the food is so delicious.

Berghain Panorama Bar

The clientele of this techno factory is made up of an eclectic mix of hipsters, university professors, gays and other curious clubbers. Offering three colossal-sized stories notable for their clean, clever industrial design, Berghain hosts numerous bars, clubs, darkrooms, a biergarten, a separate garden for relaxing, an ice cream bar and endless amounts of chill-out space complete with cushy sofas and semi-private sitting cabins. The former power plant's mammoth size and hedonistic rawness guarantee a unique experience.

Grill Royal

As you walk in through the doors of Grill Royal, you are greeted with the elegance that this steakhouse is renowned for. The wood furnishing, artworks on the wall and hues of brown and cream that this place is covered in gives it a sophisticated look. Located on the northern banks of the Spree River, the terrace offers beautiful views of the gently flowing waters as you dine. Delicious steaks come complemented by wines, beers or cocktails of your choice. The prices are on the steep side, but a dinner here is sure to be a trendy and memorable one.
