Atmos

Touted as an iconic name for shopping sneakers in Tokyo, Atmos Tokyo is in a league of its own. The store and the brand have become synonymous with trendy and spot on sneakers for men and women. Their collection spells variety and they have fascinating designs to choose from. The stylish shoes promise of having fine quality fabric and assure your comfort. Apart from that, they also have a sister store, which houses some of the most popular brands in sportswear. The flagship store in Jingu-Mae is a haven for sneaker lovers.

L-Breath

Got the urge to commune with nature? Wanna hike, trek, climb, bike, kayak, swim a channel or eat Gorp on a mountain top? Then L-Breath is the spot for you. With 7 floors of 'gear', you could probably outfit your entire next expedition here, or at least look the part. There is plenty of high-quality, high-tech, colorful, ruff-and-ready stuff to choose from, whether you're a weekend tree-hugger, or a regular bark-gnawer. L-Breath has reams of gadgets that look and do cool stuff. Warm and fuzzy, light and slick, life-saving, adventure-chasing, snuggling-by-the-fire, out in the bush equipment for the entire family. So what are you waiting for—hit the trails with all you got.

Victoria

Victoria Sportswear is a chain selling inexpensive sportswear. This Shinjuku branch is housed in a nine-story building and strongly oriented toward golf, an unusually popular sport and pastime in Japan. The eighth and ninth floors even have driving ranges! Tennis wear can be found on the eighth floor; ski wear on the sixth and seventh. Next door you will find L Breath, which is part of the chain and specializes in gear for outdoor activities, from mini rucksacks to mountain bikes.

MontBell

While Tokyo is the consummate urban and very concrete jungle, there also exists a great tradition, culture and affinity for enjoying nature and the great outdoors all year round. Be it attending one of the many weekend outdoor festivals or more serious camping, hiking, biking, water sports or winter sports, you can outfit yourself and your whole family right here. With two floors offering a wide variety of clothing, footwear and specialized equipment, MontBell is globally synonymous with quality outdoor living. If you need it, they probably have it, and you'll probably look stylish and feel comfy and cozy in their uber-techno, highly functional and lightweight gear. So grab your compass and head on over here before hitting the trail!

Odakyu

Odakyu has not only all the departments seen as a norm for Japan, but also a beauty salon (eighth floor, Halc building), a golf school (rooftop, Halc building) and an impressive array of services to make shopping easy. With the store split into two (main and Halc buildings), navigation can be a little confusing for the virgin Odakyu shopper. Just remember the main building is within Shinjuku Station and connected to the Halc building via underground passageways and an elevated walkway.

Billabong

The Billabong shop has the gear for boarders of all kinds. The well-stocked shop has jeans, fleeces, jackets, T-shirts, wetsuits, snowboarding pants, rucksacks and various accessories. Billabong appears to keep clothes for all seasons on display, but it gives the shop quite a crowded feel. The floors are wooden and large posters adorn the walls. Bargain racks offer large percentage discounts. -AH
