The Cathedral of the Transfiguration was a splendid church that served the area of Cathedraltown. However, this church closed down and no longer offers religious services; the facade and the overall exteriors make for a beautiful landmark. Currently, the plans for refurbishment and transformation of the cathedral are underway.
Overlooking the Ottawa River, sits the majestic Earnscliffe manor. This beautiful mansion was the house of prominent personalities like Sir John A. Macdonald, first Prime Minister of Canada, and currently is home to the British High Commissioner to Canada.
Formerly known as the Erindale College, University of Toronto Mississauga is a branch campus of University of Toronto located in Toronto. The Brampton Libraries date back to 1858 when it was founded in Mechanic's Institute of Brampton. Today the system includes five individual libraries serving various communities within Brampton and the nearby towns. The Chinguacousy Branch of Brampton is located on Central Park Drive in Bramalea neighborhood of the town. A hub for many activities and educational programs for children and teens, the library also features a gallery called Chinguacousy Library Gallery which has showcased great Canadian artists like David Blackwood and many more.
Located within the Meadowvale Cemetery, The Korean War Memorial Wall was inaugurated in 1997. The huge granite structure is 200-feet in length and contains 516 plaques made of bronze each dedicated to Canadian soldiers who lost their lives during the Korean War. There is a bronze feature in the center listing all the military units that took part in the war for peace.
Claiming to be one of the biggest churches in the city, St. Paul's United Church spreads the message of Christianity to its fellowmen. All the prayer services, musical events and cultural activities are targeted towards people of all ages. If not for the church happenings, the splendid architecture and stained glass art of this religious place are worth admiring.
