Hot Pink

Jaipur has earned the nickname Pink City but this has to do with its traditional royal palaces. Hot Pink, on the other hand, is reinventing ancient Indian art and textiles into trendy pieces, worthy of being showcased on the modern international fashion scene. Housed in the Narain Niwas Palace, it boasts a well-curated collection of some of India's niche designers and fashion houses like Idli by Thierry Journo, Abraham & Thakore, Manish Arora and Namrata Joshipura. Here, tie and dye methods, block printing, cashmere shawls, hand embroidery and Kashmiri handloom get a kitschy and contemporary twist. Of particular interest are studded brooches, lamps with gold leaf motifs, chokers and home fabrics in a kaleidoscope of colors.
