Jatiluhur is renowned for the man-made lake at the mammoth site of Jatiluhur Dam and Reservoir. The 80-hectare site is popular for picnics, swimming, boating and water-skiing. Boats and watersport equipment can be rented. The area also boasts a thriving fishing industry. Operating since 1980, the reservoir is 100 meters deep, has a diameter of 1,200 meters and a capacity of three billion cubic meters. It is used primarily to provide irrigation and to supply water to hydroelectric power stations.
