"Planned Garden Neighborhood"
The Beit HaKerem neighborhood was planned in 1922 as one of the gardens of Jerusalem, designed as a result of a mandate by the British. Civilization in the region, however, dates back to ancient times as evidenced by the ruins of old Byzantine and Mamluk temples. Some sights which are worth taking a look at while in this neighborhood steeped in historic heritage include the Park of the Twenty and the Denmark Square.
