"Not Just a Green Respite"
In the heart of downtown, lies the Penn Valley Park, a park that was carved out of an urban setting of houses and buildings in an attempt to try and retain the land's history as an historic ravine. This ravine, known as the 'Penn Street ravine', a part of the route which was used by the pioneers to traverse west on the land, via the Santa Fe Trail. The park was completed in the early 1900s, and today occupies a prime position in the city's landscape. Among the amenities available here are a dog park, a skate park, tennis courts, picnic areas, softball fields, and the National World War I Museum at Liberty Memorial. Do call to know more.
