Dedicated towards the preservation and interpretation of Missouri's early history and architecture, the Shoal Creek Living History Museum, was founded in the year 1975, and is nestled within the Hodge Park. Within its 80 acres space, the museum has 21 structures, including 17 authentic log cabins and homes, relocated from surrounding counties, dating back from 1807-1885 to create a like village setting. On a daily basis the grounds are open to visitors, who can enjoy self-guided tours by using the Walking Tour Guide Brochure available at the entrance and kiosks. They can enjoy a picnic with their family and friends under the large shade trees, or venture out on the walking trails throughout Hodge Park.
