Best Landmarks in Katoomba

, 2 Options Found

Three Sisters is a sandstone rock formation set against the majestic Blue Mountains range. According to legend, three Katoomba sisters were turned to stone by and elder after finding forbidden love with Nepean tribesmen. Intending to protect the sisters from the ensuing tribal conflict, the elder is said to have died in battle, sentencing the sisters to stone for life. A "Giant Staircase" leads to the Three Sisters observation plateau just past the site's Echo Point. From there, a one and a half hour hike continues through to the Katoomba Falls. If you're exhausted from the hike or overwhelmed by the beauty of the Three Sisters, take the Scenic Railway back to the observation point for a small fee.

The Scenic World Blue Mountains offers lots of exciting options for the entire family. With skyway and cableway rides, on-location revolving restaurants and a great space for events. The venue is all about great fun and excitement. Attraction prices vary. See their website for more information.
