Archaeological Museum Kayseri has a vast and authentic collection of prehistoric artifacts which shed light into the gradual development of human civilization. The different time periods are well demarcated in different halls of the museum. Hall of Prehistoric Works has weapons and other materials from Neolithic period. Haydar Bey Köşkü is a mansion with a history dating back to 970 CE. The castle was used as a hunting mansion. With a remarkable architecture, the castle has high walled fortress and a courtyard. The mansion falls in line with the silk road, and played a prominent role in the trade and culture of the city. Restored in 2011, the place has been converted into an event venue and restaurant. They also have various activities like horse riding for the benefit of the general public.
