"Striking Lighthouse"

Holtenauer Leuchtturm was built as a beacon for the Kiel Canal. In the octagonal Drei-Kaiser-Halle, the history of the canal's construction is commemorated. On June 21, 1895, Wilhelm II cut the ribbon for the lighthouse for the waterway, which was called Kaiser Wilhelm Canal in honor of his grandfather.
