"Beautiful Historic Monastery"
Located in the Pecherskyi district of Kiev, Vydubychi Monastery is a beautiful historic monastery rich with traditions, legends and featuring remarkable Russian medieval architecture. Originally founded in 1070 Vsevolod I of Kiev, only few of its churches and buildings have survived over the centuries including the Collegiate Church of Saint Michael, the St. George Cathedral, the Transfiguration of the Saviour Church and refectory. Although not as popular as Kiev's other large monasteries, Vydubychi offers visitors a peaceful and spiritual atmosphere with simple furnishings and a chance to see tombs of various notable Ukrainian personalities buried here.
