Opened in 2008, this elegant French restaurant with a seasonal focus has won several accolades in its short stint. The restaurant serves exquisite meals prepared with a careful selection of seasonal ingredients, and a lion's share of the menu features meat-based and seafood dishes, although a vegetarian menu is available upon request as well. Few examples of the restaurant's offerings in the past have included dishes like Smoked Haddock with leek sauce, Dover Sole Fillet with porcini butter sauce and Scallop Royale with a lobster bisque. Campagne was awarded a one Michelin star status in September 2013 and enjoys a well-heeled, discerning clientele.
Kyteler's Inn is an excellent example of a medieval tavern and dates back to 1324. The pub takes its name from a local Kilkenny woman, Dame Alice Kyteler, who married four times and was convicted of practicing witchcraft in the same year. Tastefully restored, the pub's traditional interior with timber floors, wooden tables and an open fire makes for an excellent atmosphere. The Irish stew comes highly recommended.
