St. Jakobus Kirche is a significant local church that dates back to the 13th Century. The beautiful white facade and the spectacular west tower white a grey steeple make for an interesting sight. Ehmsendenkmal, also known as the “whisper house” is a monument erected in the honor of Ernst Ehmsen, founder of Sauerland Mountain Association. Built-in the year 1897, it is an 8-meter (26.24 feet) high pavilion-like dome structure. Rising on the eastern side of the oak on a ledge, this acoustically designed monument offers some spectacular views of the old town and new town of Arnsberg.
