"Beautiful Church of Kiruna"

Gracing Kiruna's center with its early 20th-century charm, this church's hybrid architectural composition was way ahead of its time. It can therefore be regarded as a modern Scandinavian architectural masterpiece. Consecrated by the bishop Olof Bergqvist in 1912, this highly-revered church was the brainchild of renowned architect Gustaf Wickman, who combined various elements of traditional Gothic Revival architecture and Art Nouveau, to create a visual treat for the ages. Touted as the 'shrine of the Nomadic people' for good reason, the Kiruna church's interiors are impressive as well, featuring an exquisite altarpiece handcrafted by the Duke of Närke Prince Eugen himself.
