"Jewish Renaissance-Era Cemetery"
Remuh Cemetery (which was founded in the 1550's) is not only a stunningly beautiful and mysterious place, but also a fairly unique one. It is considered to be one of the most interesting Jewish cemeteries in Europe. Among the oldest tombstones there is one you cannot miss as you walk through, on the grave of the renowned 16th century scholar and philosopher, Rabbi Moses Isserles (nick-named Remuh). The local Jewish community named the cemetery after their beloved Rabbi. The cemetery is closed on Sundays.
