Restoran Hoppy

This Johor-originated restaurant is very popular for its roast duck.

An impressive giant replica of a roast duck hangs outside the restaurant and it never fails to attract the attention of passers-by. The interior is not spectacular but the selection of duck dishes is.

The Ginseng Herbal Roasted Duck and Tong Kui Herbal Roasted Duck are two of the favourites. Each dish is served with gravy and rice. Other options include a range of roasted chicken, pigeon, pork and goose dishes. A variety of refreshing herbal teas and soft drinks is available.

Restoran Busy Corner

The name is not an understatement, as an endless stream of diners keep this place busy. The setting is the typical simple and fuss-free kopitiam (suburban coffeehouse) style. Do not expect too much, just ceiling fans and plastic tables and chairs. However, the service is fast and efficient. The menu offers a number of interesting versions on the pork-free clay pot rice like black pepper chicken, spicy Thai-style and a spicy fish style. A bowl of steaming herbal soup is a nice complement to the meal. Chinese tea and soya bean beverages are available.

BB Thai Delights

This eatery offers a choice of value-for-money dishes. The simple yet inviting setting at this warmly lit self-service restaurant provides a cosy venue for a quick meal. The dark wood furniture adds a rustic Asian feel to the place.

The set meals come with a main dish, mixed vegetables and a choice of pineapple or belacan rice. Main dishes include roasted chicken, grilled fish and lamb chops. Check out the three bowls of chilli sauce; each is especially created for the different kind of meats on offer. A glass of iced lemon tea is a refreshing treat.

Leung Kee Restaurant

This home-grown restaurant is bustling with activity and always packed during lunch hours. The humble setting features simple dining sets and ceiling fans, but this does not deter diners from coming back again and again.

The popularity of this restaurant is due to the delicious fresh homemade noodles and the place is famous for its Chinese wan ton noodles. Have the noodles with the usual char siew (honey barbecued pork) or opt for other accompaniments such as curry chicken, ribs or chicken feet. Chinese teas and soft drinks are available.

Craft Origin

Known for serving breakfast and delicious cups of coffee and teas in cozy environs, Craft Origin is highly popular among the locals. Specialities of the coffee house include Artisanal Hand Brewed Coffee, Salted Caramel Latte, and Drip Ethiopian Coffee. Teas like Sakura Rose Tea and Longjing Oolong also come recommended by the regular patrons of the cafe. As for the food, Fish and Chips and French Toast are just some of the dishes you can feast on here. If you are in the mood for a decadent drink or great snacks, then don’t think twice before heading to Craft Origin

Portuguezze Kitchen

Portuguezze Kitchen serves a blend of Portuguese food and the cuisine of the south-western Malaysian state Malacca. It is situated in the food court of the shopping mall Sungei Wang Plaza and almost appears like a food stand from outside. The orange and red brick-walled interiors are charming and dimly lit by ceiling lamps. This restaurant specializes in tangy claypot curries and seafood cooked using traditional recipes. The popular dishes include Portuguese Grilled Fish served with Lemongrass Sambal, Curry Seku and Ambiler Kacang, a typical claypot dish. Do not miss the Devil Curry with intensely spicy flavors, which is the most favored item on the menu. The inexpensive prices and the delicious fusion food make it a favorite eatery in the mall. Be sure to carry sufficient cash as this place does not accept credit card payments.
