"Ear Tomb"

Mimizuka is a testament of brutality of the Japanese invasion back in the 16th Century. Translating to "Ear Mound," this verdant monument is the burial ground of tens of thousands of ears and noses mutilated off Korean people at the time of war. These body parts were sent back as trophies and are today symbolic of the gruesome and inhumane past. A stone sculpture is atop the tomb, marking a sombre city landmark.
