At this smallish restaurant resembling a Tunisian palace, you will always be received with a smile by the Ben Ahmed family. The place is done in blue with traditional crockery and offers copious and varied dishes. On the menu are méchouia salad, egg brick, chorba, tahini and the inevitable couscous--best with a light rosé. Mint tea served by the Ben Ahmed scion (i.e., the couple's son) and Tunisian pastries will certainly leave you satisfied. Their menu includes a set meal available too for the customers.
This small restaurant is situated in the student quarter, serving good quality Palestinian food at reasonable prices; it is easy to see why its 25 seats are always taken. You can have a sandwich or with a bit more patience you will be rewarded with a samboussik ( a meat and spinach rissole) or salad with such ingredients as aubergines, courgettes aand peppers. There are set menus with 3 or 6 cold starters to accompany your main dishes of chicken, lamb and falafel.
Expect to pay between 14F (EUR 2.13) and 25F (EUR 3.81) for a sandwich and between 50F (EUR 7.62) and 105F (EUR 16.00) for a starter, main course and dessert if dining a la carte.
