Lake Wales Museum and Cultural Center
"Explore the History of Lake Wales"
The museum is housed in a restored 1928 train depot, and is dedicated to preserving and protecting the rich cultural heritage of Lake Wales. The museum presents the history of Lake Wales with excellent displays and informative narratives, and further explains how the city was founded and developed to the present day. It has rooms dedicated to arts, dollhouse, antique room etc. The major highlight being the ‘Train Display’. Apart from being a museum, the center organizes major fund-raising programs, and supports other cultural groups in the preservation and implementation of projects for the well being of the city. There is a small gift shop and on sale are a variety of traditional items like bags, t-shirts, hats and citrus label merchandise.
