W. J. Beal Botanical Garden
Established on the campus of Michigan State University in 1872, W. J. Beal Botanical Garden is one of the oldest botanical gardens in the country. The idea and initial plan for the garden was laid out by Professor William Beal, after whom the park is named. Today, the garden is host to thousands of species of native as well as exotic plant life. The garden has been a site for numerous plant based researches, and is a haven for botany students. Michigan Women's Hall of Fame is placed inside the Cooley Haz House and was opened to the public in 1987. They have a total of 275 people on the list and consists of women pioneers either historically or contemporary. The list is reserved for women born or who have stayed in Michigan and also consists of an art gallery displaying the art work.
Central United Methodist Church
Central United Methodist Church is a historical church located in Lansing, Michigan. Built in 1889 by architect Elijah E. Myers, who designed the Michigan State Capitol, this structure is made up of sandstone and red oak. Today, this beautiful building still has most of its original design and decor, including the original windows and chandeliers. Central United Methodist Church offers various services and has a library and a small nursery for children.
