The name says pizza on the marquee, but this restaurant makes more than just pies. On the menu, visitors will find pasta, salads, soups, burgers, and calzone as well as plenty of specialty pizza options. The Greek pizza topped with tomatoes, olives and feta is something novel while the Spicy Buffalo adds chicken, hot sauce and onions for those really experimental. Nonetheless, the menu is extremely large, so there is definitely something for everyone in this low-key, casual restaurant.
In between bail bonds establishments and boutique shops, visitors will find this Mexican restaurant that serves classic dishes just like nana used to make. Well, maybe not as good as grandma's cooking, but quite close. The kitchen serves tacos, tortas and tostadas in addition to some potent margaritas to wash it all down. Open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, Casa Don Juan provides a dense menu in which everyone will find something delightful. Don't forget to try the fried ice cream for dessert, it is one of the best versions in town.
Located in the Arts District of Las Vegas, Makers & Finders is part coffeeshop, part restaurant. The barista menu offers pour-over drip coffee made with a Chemex, fair-trade beans, local roasters, etc., etc., but the kitchen is where this place really shines. The chefs serve eclectic items like Latin Hash made with Yucca, pulled beef, fried potatoes and a fried egg or the Arepa Benny made with poached eggs, coffee-rubbed beef, grilled tomatoes and a salsa-verde Hollandaise. The Chorizo Brussel Sprouts and Sofrito Sliders are two other excellent options and if you seek something more traditional, there are always more standard soups, salads and sandwiches available.
Enjoy Italian fare at Town Square’s La Bella Napoli Pizzeria. Serving wood-fired pizzas with flavorful sauces, the quaint restaurant puts authentic Neapolitan flavors on your table. Prepared with fresh ingredients, the well-seasoned dishes are cooked to perfection here. Indulge in the chef’s special pizza, the chicken piccata, the baked ziti and the Nutella calzone along with Italian beers and wines. The old-world Italian décor gives the eatery a traditional look. The staff is attentive and the service is impeccable.
Fresh cut french fries, buffalo potstickers, fried pickles...oh, yeah...and wings! Sin City Wings is a food truck on the streets of Vegas. They offer up a menu they claim is highly addictive. Their homemade wing sauces include the ever popular The Oscar Goodman; a flavorful sauce with a good burn. They have other sauces for those who want a kick but less burn. They have a variety of sides like their southern style macaroni salad and spicy cheese fries. They even have dessert wings, and the best way to find their current location is to follow them on twitter. - Amy Tjaden
