One of Lausanne's most popular restaurants, this Italian eatery has lots of character, charm and most importantly, a friendly staff. The place gets busy, although there is no need to book for a family of four or less. Choose to dine indoors or out on the large street terrace, another reason for the restaurant's popularity. The menu consists of all main Italian dishes, and is reasonably priced.
Located in central town this is an ideal eatery if you are on a shopping visit and need a quick tasty bite to eat. The atmosphere is obviously Chinese, and there is a large bar area, around which one will find individual tables. The atmosphere can be described as slightly dark and dingy, but that does not appear to be too great a problem. In the summer time there is a large terrace which is open to the elements, and from which you can watch the passers by. The food is of good quality, and the produce is fresh. Meanwhile the prices remain reasonable and the service is very efficient. All in all a good option.
A restaurant for the refined and health-conscious types. Located on the southern side of the Lausanne Palace & Spa, this restaurant provides spectacular views over the lake and mountains of the Lac Léman region. Large transparent walls give way to the superb, newly renovated swimming pool and spa, a most wonderful sight under the cover of darkness. Great lighting effects bring out the best in this restaurant. A big terrace is also an option for the summer months. A place of relaxation and tranquility.
Located in central Lausanne, Les Alliés Cafe-restaurant is a true delight for food lovers. Despite its small size and fairly bland interior, the food is very good and the menu is quite creative. The cheese, dessert and wine selections are particularly worth trying. If tired dining indoors, then their terrace is definitely a refreshing change. The owners are in fact only too happy to discuss their little restaurant, so do not hesitate to ask.
Perched on a hill, high above Lutry, this small restaurant has a wonderful view of the lake and the mountains thanks to its panoramic dining room. The smoked glass gives an air of sophisticated elegance from the exterior, while from the interior it provides privacy. The food merits great accolades, which is more than we can say for the price equals very expensive. The dining room itself is relatively small, and the service is discreet and efficient. The wine list is excellent.
Without a doubt one of the bistros with the best atmosphere in Lausanne. The waitresses and waiters are always in a good mood, which is infectious and has spread to many regulars. From the terrace, customers will warn you if your car is parked in a way which may make it an easy target for traffic wardens. The atmosphere is quiet at first, but warms up as the evening progresses, fuelled by a wide range of beers. The food is excellent and well priced.

Situated on Route de la Corniche, between Epesses and Chexbres, this restaurant in the middle of the vineyards boasts a fantastic view over Lake Geneva (Lac Léman) and the Alps, whether you choose to sit in the dining room or on the particularly pleasant terrace. This inn specializes in fish dishes, with various menus available depending on the season and catch of the day, and always accompanied by delicious local wines. The Inn of Crochettaz also has a wine tasting center (from the Lavaux region), together with rooms for those who might have sampled a few too many, or who may simply want to sleep in a magnificent setting.
This restaurant is set on the street-side of the Lausanne Palace & Spa and over-looks the bustling high-street. One might describe it as a posh French Brasserie which one might expect to find in Paris. Let's say it is a refined Parisian Brasserie. In the summer time the large windows are opened up and there is a small terrace. The service is typically fast and efficient, yet one does not feel rushed. The menu is diverse, ranging from more traditional meat dishes (grilled fillet of steak with a green pepper sauce) to the more sophisticated offal and salad choices. Portions are adequate as are the prices but not exorbitant. Decor is largely oak, with a large bar and a staircase decorated accordingly. A very nice meeting point.
