The Freihof presents the life and work of the great chronicler of the Middle Black Forest and its history, Heinrich Hansjakob (1837-1916). He was one of the most read southern German authors of his time and is still considered an important source for historians and folklorists.
Albert Schweitzer, the Protestant theologian, organist, music researcher, philosopher, and doctor was known throughout the world as the 'Jungle Doctor'. In a vivid presentation in the Albert-Schweitzer-Haus, the life and work of Albert and Helen Schweitzer are chronicled. The aim of the exhibition is to give visitors an appreciation of the present significance of his work and his philosophy of the 'respect for life'.
German Phono Museum is dedicated to the history of audio visual devices. The museum has a collection of olden TV sets, recorders, cassette players, gramophones and shows the transition in the appliances as time progressed. Book an appointment with them to get a peek into the history and learn about the ways the equipment were used.
