"Relic of Medieval History"

An enigmatic dot on Spofforth's rural landscape, this ruinous castle is yet alive with inextricable strands of English heritage. The castle was restored in the 14th Century by English baron Henry de Percy, hence charting out the long-standing legacy of the Percy family. Although having witnessed huge modifications, the magnificent Spofforth Castle still stands strong with a picturesque turret, several quarters, a 13th-century, stone-carved undercroft and withered windows overgrown with wilderness. Ruins of this manor house not only speak of a timeless epoch, but they also greatly signify the body of great architectural finesse, the medieval edifice once was. Its derelict, yet bewitching browns complemented deeply by bright greens of the lush park, this entrancing manor remains forever etched in one's memory.
