Watermead Country Park

What started out as a sand and gravel pit was transformed into Watermead Country Park in the 1980s. You can spend an entire day out at Watermead, because there is a dearth of activities that you can take part in and lots to do and see. Depending on what time you reach the park, you can start off with a family picnic along with ball games and other recreational activities. You can then move onto an afternoon of fishing at the Lily Pond and the John Merrick Lake. Used primarily as a wildlife and nature conservation park, don't miss out on watching a wide range of bird species within the park.
