"Cross Me over a River"
Crossing the vast blue waters is what the Swithland Viaduct helps the Great Central Main Line to do. Normally built over a valley or a gorge, however this viaduct was built over the Swithland Reservoir and consists of two different viaducts along with an embankment over Brazil Island in the center of the reservoir. It now carries the Great Central Railway. Photographs of this cannot be easily taken as the viaduct itself is out of bounds, but there are other points from where the oncoming trains and the viaduct can be photographed. Construction credits go to John Aird & Sons for bridges No.349 and 350.
