Mons-en-Pévèle

"A Walk in the Green Countryside"

From the Latin "a pabulis" pastureland country, la Pévèle unfolds into meadows, rivers and "hallots" (the local name for willows). An easily accessible route allows you to discover Mons-en-Pévèle, which has remained famous in French history for the battle in which Philippe le Bel opposed the Count of Flanders in 1304. Follow the footpath on the mountainside to discover the area, rich in architectural history with farms and chapels nestled among the woods and thickets, and between prairies and streams. The guided route is about six miles long and the walk takes about two and a half hours. Please phone for further information.
