If your children are 12 or older, you can drop them off and do some downtown shopping. Kids younger than 12 must be supervised.

Admission to the museum is $3 per person.

Nebraska State Capitol

In 1854, the Nebraska Territory was formed by the United States Congress, and in 1868 the first capitol was constructed in Lincoln. The current capitol building is the third in the city of Lincoln, with construction beginning in 1922. Rising 400 feet (121.9 meters) it is one of the city's tallest buildings and one of the country's tallest capitols. The tower itself sits on a square building occupied by government offices. Inside the tower, the three primary branches of Nebraska government are housed, as well as four observatory decks on the 14th floor which offer great views of the city. The capitol's hallways are decorated with a fine selection of contemporary artwork, notably the 'Governor's Suite Series', 'The Spirit of the Prarie', 'The Labors of the Hand', and the 'The Homesteader's Campfire'.
