Known as the oldest church in Lindau, Peterskirche mesmerizes with its ancient tower and Romanesque elements. In 1967, 15th-century frescoes by Hans Holben The Elder were found in the church, which dates from around 1000. They depict many important scenes such as Passion of the Christ, and his disciples Saint Peter and Saint Christopher.
Located in the lake town of Lindau and popularly referred to as the 14th-century thieves' tower, Diebsturm is a famous historical landmark. It is named so as it served as a prison and a watchtower since 1380. Adjacent to it is an ancient church, which is equally appealing. The tower's unusual design, especially at the top, is worth admiring. The beautiful tower, flanked by other majestic buildings and overlooking the harbor, resembles a small castle out of a fairytale and is worth a visit when in Lindau.
Mangturm is an impressive tower that was established in the 13th Century and served as a lighthouse for five centuries before being decommissioned. The grey-bricked stone tower is truly a sight to behold while walking along the picturesque harbor. During the fairy tale hours, visitors can climb up the tower for breathtaking views of Lindau and listen to enchanting fairytales in the historic setting. You can also take immersive tours of the tower, which are especially delightful for children.

The German Alpine Road (Deutsche Alpenstraße) is one such road that winds through the Bavarian Alps from Lake Constance in Lindau to Lake Königssee in Schönau am Königsee. Traversing a distance of 450 kilometers (279.6 miles), this road takes one on an adventure of discoveries. You pass across shimmering lakes and gurgling rivers flowing through deep valleys, green slopes and snow-capped peaks, richly wooded areas, meadows and farms with strolling cattle, and quaint houses in towns and villages.
