San Joaquin County Historical Society & Museum

The San Joaquin County Historical Society & Museum, situated within the Micke Grove Regional Park, presents guests with the fascinating history of San Joaquin County in central California, with a focus on the county seat of Stockton. This region is noted for its good yield of olives, watermelons, tomatoes and grapes, as well as its winemaking skills. Hence, the museum's displays and artifacts are organized around themes depicting the evolution of farming, allied industries and wineries in the area. It preserves archives of historic births and deaths and houses four historic structures: an old Blacksmith Shop, and the 19th-century Julia Weber House, Calaveras School and Charles Weber Cottage. It also showcases temporary exhibits and conducts educational tours for school children.
