Lolo Pass Visitor Center


"Story of the Crossing"

Located off Highway 12, Lolo Pass Visitor Center is the historic site where Lewis and Clark crossed the Lolo Pass in the Bitterroot Mountains in the 19th Century. A part of the Nez Perce-Clearwater National Forests, the visitor center is home to a variety of informative exhibits and artifacts that narrate the story of the crossing as well as the flight of the Nez Perce Indians from the region. It also includes a warming hut, where visitors can stop by for a refreshing break of hot chocolate, coffee, or tea, in front of the cozy fireplace.
