The Banting House National Historic Site

Home to Sir Frederick Banting, the Banting House is also known as the Birthplace of Insulin among other names. Curated by Grant Waltman, the Banting House not only finds itself as one of the national historic places of Canada, but the house has also been converted into a fascinating house museum. Visitors get the chance to glimpse through artifacts and materials that allow them to discover and learn more about Banting’s life including his involvement in World War II. An apothecary, a medicine cabinet and a desk are some of the things you can browse through. The garden of the house also features two sculptures dedicated to Banting and his discovery of insulin. Visitors also get the chance to view the replica of the Nobel medal awarded to him. Budweiser Gardens

Budweiser Gardens is a sport-entertainment complex in London, Ontario. Originally named after the founder of Labatt Brewery, Budweiser Gardens is the home ice of the London's hockey team, the London Knights. The Grand Theatre

Located on Richmond Street, The Grand Theatre is a classy venue that stages different genres of theater. Opened in September of 1901, it has a classical design that exemplifies the traditional theatrical aesthetic, having modeled its interior on the Proscenium Arch theatre style. The regular season runs between September and May with a seating capacity of 839. There is also a secondary space on the lower floor called the McManus Theatre, which itself can accomodate 150 guests. In its time, The Grand Theatre has seen legendary actors like Sarah Bernhardt, Sidney Poitier, Maggie Smith, and Michael Redgrave perform, so be sure to book tickets for a show next season.

Eldon House

Established in 1960, the Eldon House is a historic house museum and a prominent landmark for the locals. Built in the 19th Century, the mansion is not only one of the oldest building in the city, but the mansion also displays elements of gorgeous Georgian and Regency architectural styles. Visitors to the house museum also enjoy guided tours of the entire house including the bedrooms, the nursery and the library. They also get the chance to enjoy a glimpse of the period furnishings besides strolling in the well-maintained gardens. During special occasions, one can also participate in games. Museum London

Home to a much-enjoyed collection, Museum London focuses on Canadian art and the historical heritage of the City of London. Located at the fork of the Thames River, the museum is housed in a modern building that was designed by Raymond Moriyama. The museum was originally established in 1933 as The Museum of Indian Archaeology and Pioneer Life to display a collection of local artifacts excavated by father-son duo Amos and Wilfrid Jury. Its name has changed a couple times, and the museum has expanded over the years to transform into an education zone.
