"Discover the Famous Stephenson's Rocket Locomotive"
Built by George Stephenson and his son Robert in 1829, this steam locomotive was the most advanced at the time, and its model inspired all other locomotives over the following years. It was dubbed as the 'Rocket' after winning the Rainhill Trials design competition held by the Liverpool & Manchester Railway. The locomotive enjoyed many years of service and in present times the original machine is on display at the Science Museum in London.
