"The National Musician's Church"

St. Sepulchre Church was originally built in 1450. After the Great Fire of 1666, the Wren's masons rebuilt it in 1670-71. St. Sepulchre is said to be the largest parish church in London. In its historic Musician's Chapel, the ashes of Sir Henry Wood (creator of the Promenade Concerts: orchestral concerts founded in 1895 and also known as the BBC Proms) are interred. St. Sepulchre has hosted the Bergamo Ensemble and features regular performances by the St. Sepulchre Choir, Choral Scholars, and the St. Sepulchre Singers.
