Charterhouse Square is a quiet square on the edge of the City of London. Along with being a good place to escape the crowds, it also has a wealth of historical and architectural interest. On the north side is the Charterhouse, on the site of a Carthusian monastery founded in 1371. Charterhouse Hospital was built around 1770. Florin Court on the east side was built in 1936 and was used as the fictional home of Agatha Christie's Hercule Poirot in the films. The south side was home to Charterhouse Square School.
