"Mostly Historic, Minorly Modern Pub"
The King William IV provides a unique opportunity for guests to enjoy a traditional pub atmosphere in a 16th-century hall house currently listed as a Grade II listed building. This lovingly cared-for pub has preserved the architecture of a typical inn of its time, dark wooden accents and exposed beams creating a rustic ambiance that matches the pub's "real ale," ale that has not been pasteurized or filtered and retains all the original body of the brew. The only area of King William's operation that is not decidedly medieval is the food selection, the menu consisting largely of Thai food that, by all accounts, is some of the most phenomenal in the area. Of course there's the standard set of British pub grub, although these offerings fell surprisingly flat when compared to the Asian dishes on offer. Perfect for visitors to the area's numerous hotels, King William IV is a charming old-English sight that also boasts an eclectic fare of dinner options.
