St Andrew's Church, Hornchurch has come to be the resting place for a number of distinguished individuals over the years, and the memorials and monuments found throughout the church tell the tale of the many lives it has touched. Although the oldest sections of the church can be dated back to the 12th Century, most of the existing structure is a result of additions and alterations made in later years. Although the entire church is of significant architectural interest, perhaps the most unusual feature of this Gothic church is the bull head glaring down from the east end of the roof. Inside there are a number of intriguing fixtures including some fine stained glass work and a carved pulpit. Still an active place of worship, the church warmly welcomes one and all, and supports a number of community groups in addition to hosting regular services.
