"Bathed in Gold"

A cherub's gilded statue, Golden Boy of Pye Corner is found at a building's corner, and represents the furthest place of Great Fire of London which struck the city in 1666. Apart from the Golden Boy's historical significance, what makes this sculpture very mesmerizing are long inscriptions carved at its foot. A short inscription beneath the statue reads, "This Boy is in Memory Put up for the late Fire of London, Ocassion'd by the Sin of Gluttony, 1666." Golden Boy of Pye Corner is marked as a Grade II listed monument.
