The Beaconsfield Sycob Football Clubhouse is a primary event venue that can be used to host all types of parties and gatherings. It offers a full bar and kitchen. While it can accommodate 120 persons indoors, the outside garden can also be rented for open-air events. A part of the Beaconsfield Sycob football Club, it can be rented by outsiders as well. The St Mary & St Hugh of Harlow is dedicated to serving residents in its parish and those reaching out to it. It conducts regular services and activities to promote communal bonding. The church is said to have been built in CE 1190 and has extensively painted stained glass windows depicting biblical messages. It suffered some damage in the World War II and underwent extensive repairs. Apart from usual sermons and prayer meetings, the church also offers special services for baptism, weddings and funerals. In addition to these, there are a variety of events held for promoting healthy relationships between its members. Some events include Coffee Shop, Men's Breakfast, Garden Party and Stand-up comedy shows which are held at intervals.
A redundant Anglican church close to the river Thames, St Mary Magdalene's Church, Boveney, is a designated Grade I listed building. It is under the care of the Friends of Friendless Churches. Although declared redundant in 1975, with plans or demolishing it for residential building purposes, thanks to a local campaign it was saved in 1983 on a 999 year lease. Today, it is occasionally used for service after extensive restoration work was carried out when the tower became unstable. The key to the church can be obtained from the Boveney Lock.
Chobham Common is a nature's paradise spanned across 1400 acre (566.56 hectare) of land with globally rare habitat, including 390 species of vascular plant and 26 species of mammal. It is marked as a National Nature Reserve, a Site of Special Scientific Interest and a Special Protection Area under the EU Birds Directive. Hidden away under the famous A1 (M) in Welwyn Garden City, Hertfordshire lies the historically-significant Welwyn Roman Baths. Dating back to the 3rd Century CE the impressive Roman ruin was originally part of the archaic Dicket Mead Villa and was only discovered by archeologist Tony Rook in 1960. The site is open to the public who can witness the detailed layout of the well-preserved bath with its hot and cold rooms and get an idea of the splendor and luxury with which the Romans lived. Children can enjoy interactive activities such as puzzles, mosaic making, dressing up and plenty of other fun stuff. A visit to the scheduled ancient monument is a must for archeological and history enthusiasts. Parking facilities are free as is admission for children.
