Covent Garden

Covent Garden is a historic district that is famous for its street performers, shops, restaurants, bars and theaters. The most well known attraction in the area is the Royal Opera House. Before it became the capital’s premiere destination for entertainment and leisure, Covent Garden served as the largest fruit and vegetable market in England. Currently, the Apple, East Colonnade and Jubilee markets are held in the piazza area. Visitors can browse through antiques, artwork, jewelry and clothing that can be found among the market stalls.

Camden Market

Open seven days a week, the Camden Market sprawls across a vast area. From arts and crafts to high street trends, you will find it all here. This is one of the must-visit markets for anyone seeking street, alternative and hippie styles. Traders sell everything from secondhand clothes to cheap antiques, records, clothes and accessories, as well as decorative items. Equally popular with tourists and locals, this market is a great place to spend the day doing some shopping.

Billingsgate Market

Billingsgate Market is the United Kingdom's busiest and one of the largest inland fish market. Earlier known as Blynesgate, it was originally a general market selling coal, salt, corn, wine, pottery and other miscellaneous items. In this chaotic fish market one can find a variety of fresh catch brought from Aberdeen and Cornwall. Apart from the wide variety of fresh fish available, the market also has poultry vendors, sundry traders and some restaurants. Escorted tours to the market place could be arranged with prior notice. Here's a little trivia; the word 'Billingsgate' became synonymous with crude and vulgar language because of the coarse language used by the fisher folk there.

Primark sells own-label goods at amazingly low prices. There are items for the house as well as clothes and accessories for men, women and children. A quick browse can lead to amazing finds, Birkenstock-copy sandals, jeans, knitwear, childrenswear, homeware, accessories, cosmetics, etc. at less than half the price that most high street stores charge.

Crest of London

Crest of London proudly bears the honor of being one of the city's premiere souvenir shops. With five stores across the village and an online store to boot, finding that perfect memento could hardly be easier. Crest of London carries nothing but the finest merchandise, whether it be the London historical ashtray, the mini shot glass set, or the adorable teddy bears (your choice of Beefeater, police or guard) for which your heart pines. Crest of London at Whitehall is conveniently located just off Trafalgar Square, and is a great place to pick up a little something to commemorate your sojourn in the city.
