Operating partially as a prop store, Jadis is the brainchild of Parke Meeke, boasting of an extraordinary collection of scientific objects. These aren't products you find regularly, and include antiques and creative designs that are either made or collected by Meeke. Some of the objects in this store include switchboards, giant coils and life-size models of many scientific robots and machines. The products sold at this store have been used as props for many popular movies as well. The extensive collection of Meeke can hardly be matched in design and creativity, and a visit to this museum is a must for all sci-fi fans.
Founded in 1965, the African American Cultural Center's goal is to strengthen the sense of community among African Americans and to preserve, research, and educate people about the African American culture. There are several historical and educational displays as well as art exhibits. The school provides several learning workshops.
Drum Barracks is the last remaining original American Civil War era military facility in the Los Angeles area. It is also called as Drum Barracks Civil War Museum and is located in Wilmington section of Los Angeles. Post 1987, it was operated as a Civil War museum and is open to the public. The historic museum got listed at the National Register of Historic Places on February 12, 1971.
