This clothing outfitter takes its name from the Sanskrit word for 'vitality' or 'life energy' and this flagship store founded by one of pioneers of the Certified Fair-Trade apparel movement embodies it. Most of the fabrics are picked to eschew as much as possible any pesticides or chemicals and though the price tag is high, the products are remarkably durable. Not only do they scrutinize the fabrics before sale, the shop tries to ensure that its finished products have left as minimal a trace as possible during the manufacturing process. In addition to this store, prAna has four other locations around the country.
Pearl Street Mall
One of Boulder's most treasured landmarks, this outdoor pedestrian mall boasts an array of boutiques and shops peddling an assortment of goods, from music to kites to trendy clothing. Located in the heart of the city, the tree lined, brick walkway also features a regular host of street performers and unusual Boulder characters.
