"Hark Back to Hollywood's Golden Age"
The oldest existing Orpheum theater in the country, Metropolitan Palace Theater has been host to many highlights of Hollywood during its Golden Age. The gorgeous interior was vaguely modeled after an Italian palazzo, and features a wealth of adornments that include terra-cotta reliefs. Today, the theater is only open to the public for special events; one of these events is the Last Remaining Seats film series hosted by the L.A. Conservancy. This annual program features classic Hollywood films shown in some of the oldest and most historic theaters around Los Angeles, and usually happens in May or June each year.
