Built in 1968, the towering structure serves as a reminder of the victims of the dark day in the history of the world. The 75-foot (22.8 meter) concrete structure is claimed to be the oldest memorial in the country, dedicated to the victims of the Armenian Genocide and is a listed historical landmark .
